“Are you going to sell it second-hand on the internet?” Ramos turns down fan’s request to sign Real jersey

Sergio Ramos refused a fan’s request.

“Sergio Ramos has explained why he refused to sign a Real Madrid shirt after a video emerged of him turning down a fan’s request,” British media outlet Goal.com reported on March 18 (KST).

Ramos is one of the greatest center backs of all time, with his quick feet from a fullback background, wide coverage and good technique that allows him to smoothly transition into the attack, and his accurate kicking that allows him to send long passes forward to set up Real Madrid’s late buildup. He is also a good leader, which is why he has consistently captained the team.

He spent his youth career at Sevilla, where he shared the left and right fullback positions with his best friend Anthony Puerta. In the 2004/05 season, he became a regular starter and performed quite well. After that, Ramos and Puerta were both offered by Real Madrid at the same time, but Ramos left and Puerta stayed.

His move to Real made history as a Real legend. In 16 seasons as a starter, he scored 101 goals in 671 appearances for the club, giving everything he had as a defender.

He also lifted a total of 22 trophies, including La Liga (5), Champions League (4), Spanish Super Cup (4), Club World Cup (4), European Super Cup (3), and Copa del Rey (2). He has shown why he is one of the best defensive players in the world, with clutch performances whenever it matters.

In the 2021/22 season, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain, where he was virtually unrecognizable. He looked good when he came on, but was limited by endless injuries. In the 2021/22 season, he made only 13 appearances and was criticized. In the 2022/23 season, he was a regular starter and showed good form, but his departure from the club was confirmed and many teams were chasing him.

There were offers from several Saudi clubs in the summer transfer window, and it was also reported that Inter Miami CF had entered negotiations with Ramos. However, by mid-August, he hadn’t found a team, and Turkkiye’s Besiktas and Galatasaray were also interested in him, but he turned them down.

Then, on September 3 (KST), news broke that he had rejected a final offer from Saudi Arabia and was moving to his hometown club Sevilla. In the end, he returned to his hometown club after 20 years. He has now played four league games and three Champions League games and has been in good form.

A video of Ramos signing jerseys for supporters was posted on social media. However, when a fan asked him to sign a Madrid jersey, Ramos waved his hand and refused, drawing criticism.

“Before that moment, I had already signed about six Real Madrid shirts, and there are people who auction them off or sell them on the internet,” Ramos defended his actions after the video surfaced.
