Ryan Mason as decided to stay at Spurs

Tottenham coach Ryan Mason, 33, a “close friend of Son Heung-min,” has decided to stay at Spurs after turning down an offer from a prestigious Belgian club.

According to England’s Football London on Tuesday (June 10), Mason plans to continue at Spurs despite the Belgian club’s approach.

“Anderlecht approached Mason this month, but both sides decided the timing was not right. Mason will remain Spurs’ first-team coach, assisting manager Enzi Postecoglou.”

Mason has been heavily involved in Postecoglou’s project at Spurs and will continue to work alongside the Australian in the coaching staff. Anderlecht are currently managing the club under interim boss Hubert following the dismissal of Rimmer. Anderlecht are the winningest club in the Belgian Eredivisie, but they parted ways with Rimmer after a recent run of poor results. With just four wins in 10 games, Anderlecht sacked Rimmer and offered Mason the job. Mason was thought to be ready for the job, 토토사이트 having gained experience as a coach and interim manager at Tottenham.

However, discussions fell apart in the final stages and Mason’s appointment was never finalized.

Mason is a former Tottenham youth product, joining the academy in 1999 and making his professional debut in 2008. As a midfielder, he was given his chance under Mauricio Pochettino, anchoring the Spurs midfield. In 2015, he was called up to the England national team and made his A-match debut. However, a move to Hull City in 2016 ended his career due to a major injury. A skull fracture against Chelsea in 2017 eventually led to his retirement.

After retirement, Mason turned to coaching and has been with Tottenham ever since. He started as an academy coach, worked his way up to first-team coach, and served as Spurs’ interim manager on two occasions. In 2021 and 2023, he succeeded Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte as interim manager, respectively. Today, Mason continues to work as a first-team coach under Postecoglou, leading training sessions and coaching set-pieces.
