JUNG WOO-YOUNG HAT-TRICK, HWANG SUN-HONG THRASHES KUWAIT 9-0 IN FIRST GAME

South Korea, bidding for a third consecutive Asian Games gold medal, opened its men’s soccer group stage campaign at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games with an emphatic 9-0 victory. Cho Young-wook (Gimcheon) also scored in the 19th and 29th minutes of the first half for a ‘multi-goal’ performance, while Baek Seung-ho (Jeonbuk) in the 44th minute, Uhm Won-sang (Ulsan) in the 7th minute, Park Jae-yong (Jeonbuk) in the 35th minute, and Ahn Jae-joon (Bucheon) in the second half added a goal each to make light work of Kuwait, which has been dubbed the ‘stomach bug of the Middle East’.
