The Korea Professional Football Association, the governing body of professional soccer’s K League, announced on Wednesday that it has rescheduled Ulsan’s match against Gwangju FC in the eighth round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) following the club’s progression to the quarterfinals of the competition.
“The match between Gwangju and Ulsan in the eighth round will be rescheduled from April 20 at 2 p.m. 스포츠토토존 to May 15 at 4:30 p.m.,” the league explained.
The rescheduling takes into account that Ulsan will play the first leg of the ACL East Asia quarterfinals against Yokohama F.Marinos (Japan) at the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium on April 17, followed by the second leg of the quarterfinals at Yokohama Nissan Stadium a week later on April 24.
The rescheduling will also move Gwangju’s Round 13 match against Jeonbuk Hyundai from 8 p.m. on May 18 to 4:30 p.m. the following day, May 19.
“As Gwangju changed the time in consideration of Ulsan’s schedule, they requested a one-day postponement due to the short time to complete the 13th round after playing eight rounds,” a federation official told Newsis.
“In response, Jeonbuk also agreed and decided to postpone the 13th round by one day to the 19th,” he added.
Both matches will be played at the existing stadium, Gwangju Football Stadium.
