Real Madrid has finalized the signing of Kylian Mbappe by agreeing on his salary.
“Real Madrid have agreed a new contract with Kylian Mbappe,” British media outlet Tribuna reported on July 21 (KST).
Mbappe is one of the hottest names in next summer’s transfer market, and his future has been highly speculated. Strongly linked to Real Madrid, he had not extended his contract, which expires in 2024. In June 2023, it was reported by L’Equipe that “Mbappe will not use the option to extend his contract until June 2025”.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told Mbappe in a press conference that the club would not let him leave as a free agent in the summer and that he would have to re-sign if he wanted to stay. He also mentioned that a transfer is possible if he does not re-sign.
“I don’t think playing in Paris does much to emphasize my performance,” he told the French media, “I don’t think it helps to emphasize my performance. This will of course cause controversy, but I know what I’m doing and how I’m doing it, so I don’t care,” seemingly acknowledging the rift with the team.
According to the club, Paris recently tried all kinds of solutions and proposals for Mbappe, including offering him a “guaranteed sale” clause until the end of the season. However, Mbappe’s entourage reportedly rejected the offer.
Just when it looked like it was going to be the end of the road for Mbappe, he stayed with Paris when Neymar left for Saudi Arabia and has been in fine form this season. He has scored 24 goals in 14 Ligue 1 games, opening up a stifling Paris attack.
Mbappe has now decided to leave Paris as a free agent in the summer. On Feb. 16 (ET), a series of highly respected journalists in England, Spain, and France reported that Mbappe would be leaving PSG this summer, with Real Madrid as his next destination.
On February 19, Spanish media outlet Marca reported, “Mbappe has already signed a contract with Real Madrid. Mbappe will be a Madrid player and will sign for five seasons.” The Mbappe saga is now over.
Now we know how much Mbappe will be paid. According to the media, Mbappe’s salary will be similar to that of Judd Bellingham and Vinicius. Both players currently 토토 earn €10 million a year. In Mbappe’s case, this would be a significant drop from his salary at Paris Saint-Germain (around 57.9 billion won).
However, Mbappe will also receive a signing bonus of €100 million after joining the club. Real Madrid will pay Mbappe this amount in five installments.
Now, ‘Tribuna’ reports that “almost everything is understood to have been agreed between the two sides. It is almost official that Mbappe will sign for Real Madrid as a free agent.”
Speaking to Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain coach Enrique said, “I wish Kylian Mbappe all the best for his future. He’s a fantastic player and a great human being. I really wish him the best.” Now that Enrique has acknowledged his departure, Mbappe and Real Madrid are expected to announce an official contract soon.
