The South Korean women’s national basketball team has made changes to its roster ahead of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.
The Korea Basketball Association (KBA) 안전카지노사이트 announced on Wednesday that it has made changes to the national team for the Hangzhou Asian Games. Choi Yi-seom (29, Asan Woori Bank) has been withdrawn due to injury.
Choi won the 3-point shooting award last season despite struggling with injuries. In the championship game against Busan BNK, he exploded from beyond the arc at a crucial moment to lead his team to the title. He returned to the national team, but was unable to travel to Hangzhou due to injury.
Instead, the KBA selected Kang Yoo-rim (Samsung Life, 26-Yongin) as a replacement. A former WKBL Rookie of the Year in 2020-21 who moved to Samsung Life the following year, Kang became the team’s mainstay in 2022-23. As his outside shot improved, he ranked fifth in the league with a 36.7 percent three-point percentage. In 30 regular-season games, he averaged 12.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals, earning the Most Improved Player (MIP) award.
This is Kang’s first call-up to the senior national team. Having previously been selected for the youth national team, this is the first time he will be able to showcase his skills with the A team since his professional debut.
