Crafton to Host ‘2024 PWS Phase 1’ of Battlegrounds Domestic Pro Competition

Crafton (CEO Changhan Kim) will host Phase 1 of the 2024 PUBG WEEKLY SERIES (PWS), a domestic professional competition for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) esports, today.

PWS is Korea’s top-level professional Battle Royale esports competition. A total of 16 teams will participate, including 13 professional teams and three teams selected from Phase 1 of the official amateur competition, PUBG LVUP SERIES 2024.

PWS Phase 1 is the first half of the PWS, with the Weekly Stage taking place every Saturday and Sunday for three weeks, followed by the Grand Finals on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the fourth and final week. There will be a total of nine match days, with five matches per day for a total of 45 matches.

The Weekly Stage will be played online, while the Grand Finals will be played offline at the Vita 500 Coliseum in Jamsil, Seoul, Korea.

The winner of PWS Phase 1 will be determined by the outcome of the Grand Finals. The total prize pool is 80 million won, with the winning team receiving 40 million won, and the remaining prize pool will be divided among the second through fourth-place teams. In addition, the player named MVP of the tournament will receive an individual prize of KRW 5 million.

The PWS Phase 1 Grand Finals will feature a spot in the PUBG Global Series (PGS), an international competition taking place later this year. The top three teams from the Grand Finals, along with global partner Team Genji, will advance to PGS 3 and PGS 4, which will take place in May and June of this year, respectively. If Genji finishes in the top three, the next-place team will earn a spot.

PWS will award PUBG Global Championship (PGC) points to teams based on their performance in the Weekly Stage and Grand Finals.

The first through fourth place teams in the Weekly Stage 토토 will be awarded 30, 20, 10, and 5 points, respectively. In addition, the Grand Finals winner will receive 100 points, followed by 50 points for second place and 5 points for eighth place. Only the top three teams based on the cumulative PGC points earned throughout the year through the PWS will qualify for the PGC 2024, the top international event later this year.

Phase 1 of the PWS begins at 7 p.m. on each matchday. Online streams will be available on the official Battlegrounds Esports YouTube channel, Africa TV, Chizigic, TikTok, and Naver Esports.
