The second-place KT Wiz swept a three-game series in Busan to keep the pressure on the first-place LG Twins.
KT defeated the Lotte Giants 2-1 on June 27 at Sajik Stadium in Busan in the first game of the visiting 안전카지노사이트 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League.
KT, which was in 10th place (18 wins, 30 losses, and two draws) until June 5, has since reeled off 44 wins and 17 losses to move up to second place and now threaten leader LG.
William Cuevas, who KT manager Lee Kang-cheol called a “rebounding force,” pitched eight innings of six-hit ball to earn his eighth win of the season. Since returning to KT in June, Cuevas hasn’t lost a game in 12 appearances this season.
KT ended the game with two pitchers as Kim Jae-yoon pitched one hitless inning in the ninth.
KT took the lead in the top of the third inning when Ahn Chi-young doubled to left-center and Hwang Jae-gyun followed with a single to left.
In the fourth inning, Oh Yoon-seok hit a triple to right-center and Shin Bon-ki followed with a sacrifice fly to right field.
Lotte got one run back in the bottom of the sixth inning, thanks to a “lucky double” by Jung Hoon with two outs. KT right fielder Ahn Chi-young threw himself to catch Jung-hoon’s hit, but the ball slipped behind him.
However, Lotte was unable to score another run and suffered a one-run loss.
LOTTE starter Na Gyun-an pitched well, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out nine in seven innings, but his team’s offense couldn’t help him and he suffered his sixth loss of the season. Na hasn’t added a win in seven games since June 9 against the Samsung Lions and has lost five of them.
Lotte manager Larry Sutton vacated the dugout after feeling dizzy on the day, leaving assistant coach Lee Jong-woon in charge of the team.
Seventh-ranked Lotte has lost seven straight games in the manager’s absence, further diminishing its chances of reaching the postseason.
KT maintained its absolute dominance over Lotte this season with a 12-3 record.
